Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I personally really enjoyed this course. I have always had an interest in criminal justice and this was the perfect introduction to the world of things you can learn about our criminal justice system. We covered everything from police, courts, and corrections. I believe that the professor did a really great job of teaching the material while not babying us at the same time. We were expected to read the textbook and do our work but she always explained things thoroughly in lecture. The tests were difficult but manageable as long as you studied. Anybody who is interested in criminal justice would enjoy this course and you learn a lot of interesting facts in the process.

    Course highlights:

This course gave a brief overview of the major aspects of the criminal justice system, and then each chapter went more into depth on the topics. We learned about policing and the ways that officers are chosen and the laws they have to follow. We learned about the courts and the process that defendants go through during trial. We learned about corrections and the different sanctions criminals may receive as punishment such as probation and community service.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The best thing you can do for this course is read the textbook and attend lecture. Dr. Madoo did a great job of teaching everything you need to learn to do well on her tests and if you take good notes and study the material you will do fine.
