    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

If you are a communications, linguistics, or hearing and speech, this class is a requirement for you all. The content can be quite complicated because the subject is very abstract, but you'll have a lot of material and help from the TAs to get you through. Just make sure you keep up with your work, or your grades will slip.

    Course highlights:

This course studies how people communicate in different regions, countries with different dialects and accents. After you learn all of the terms, you start noticing these differences in you everyday life, and that's really cool!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Your TA and elms email are your best friends. Start on your homework and exercises as soon as you get them, that way, you have a higher chance of getting right answers and understanding the content.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

You need to take either this or HESP 100 for the COMM gen ed requirement. This course can be easy, however, it does require you to put in a GOOD AMOUNT OF TIME studying and understanding the concepts. It is NOT an easy A, but it is manageable. Just make sure you do the papers as soon as you possibly can, and finish them as soon as you can to get them out of the way. DO ALL OF THE HWs AND PREPS AND YOU WON'T FAIL.

    Course highlights:

The highlight was that later in the syllabus when you get to sociolinguistics, the topic becomes more interesting and more fun bc you're basically learning about slang from different states and different accents. The class gets chill after a while.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

UTILIZE THE TA. They respond very quick to emails and are very efficient in office hours. DO THE HWs and PREPs. READ READ READ,
