    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class to chemical engineers and bioengineers because the class introduced many essential biology concepts while also incorporating math to make the questions more like real-life scenarios.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the course included analyzing the processes of DNA replication, transcription, and translation and then the processes that could be used to examine DNA such as blotting, gene expression assays, PCR, and various sequencing techniques.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

To read all of the in-class notes and discussion worksheets carefully and ensure understanding for each of the topics every week because they build up on one another and often become more complicated.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it truly gets you involved in what it means to study bioengineering. I didn't know what BIOE meant until taking this class and a lot of the information from that class is used in a lot of other core classes.

    Course highlights:

I learned everything from endothermic and exothermic reactions to cellular respiration and how to make proteins. There was a protein research project that was very fun where we learned about the various proteins that work in the body.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed you must pay attention in the lecture and go to office hours for homework help. There are many small homework assignments that can truly make or make your overall grade.
