    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course teaches the foundations of statistical political science research, which is crucial for understanding the broader elements of this field. Having these skills makes the student much more marketable in the real world, and allows a glimpse into what one my expect in the workplace.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed the freedom of picking my own topic to research, which made the course much more personalized. Also, my professor was keen to impress on us the importance of the science side of Political Science, and I think this shaped my view of the field enormously. In addition, we were able to do an actual real world survey that was distributed via social media.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't slack off at the beginning, just like math courses, it is important to understand the foundations of statistics in order to build on that knowledge later. It wouldn't hurt to brush up on the basics of statistical analysis before taking the course. Also, really put some thought into the topic you want to analyze for the final project.
