Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Cain made this particular class very interesting. There are lots of things that you can learn in this class and it is a very fun and interesting as well as educating class. There were several hands on experiments that we were given on latent print processing. These experiments were fun and lasted over the periods of a day or more.

    Course highlights:

I gained a lot of information that will follow me through into my career. In this class we learn all about the ways fingerprints (friction ridge detail) may impact a crime scene and the ways that an investigator might be able to lift the prints. Some prints are much harder to lift (especially when on a textured surface or when submerged in water for a period of time) while some are simple to see and simple to lift. We were able to do some hands on experiments and they were fun. We had to figure out how to lift prints from our own home and also from some glassware that was submerged in water.

    Advice for students:

To succeed in this class I would recommend that you get all your reading completed and keep up on all the forums. This is a great class and the instructor was great as well, but if you cannot put in the initiative you will get no results. Just follow through with all course materials and keep up to date with everything and get your work turned in on time and you will succeed.
