Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Dekker is enthusiastic about speech, and passionate about making all voices heard. I hate making public speeches, and she got me to make a speech on the first day! It's important to be able to communicate with others, and this class should make you a little more effective in that department.

    Course highlights:

Small class sizes mean that the professor is always personally engaged. She has a vibrant, fun personality that helps shy people like me be more at ease.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be brave and focus on doing your best. Don't worry what others think - most of them are just as frightened and vulnerable feeling as you are!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class helped me become more comfortable with public speaking. Professor Dekker understands that not all people like being in front of a crowd and helps to assure that the environment is supportive and encouraging.

    Course highlights:

I learned important aspects of public speaking. One of the most important things I learned is that even if you are shy, people will think you are confident if you just get up there and act confident! I learned how to be effective in delivering information, how to keep the audiences attention, and how to properly persuade and audience.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you have any questions professor Dekker is more than happy to help. If you're nervous to take the class I'd say just do it. It's not difficult and it's a safe place to learn how to speak effectively to an audience.
