    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend this course mostly because of the professor teaching it. He gives us more than just the required text material; he gives us ways to apply it to our lives and live it out. After leaving this class, I feel so much more woke to the world and myself.

    Course highlights:

The best part of this course was that our professor took the time to talk to us about what we think of the material and he also was so gracious to us. He understood when life got in the way of class or an assignment. He also really took the time to tie in what we were learning to current events, which helped me personally analyze and understand them so much better.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The homework is hefty and hard to understand, but the benefit from this course is so worth it. Ask questions and read things once or twice through. Make the time for the reading and coursework and just try your best.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is a great introductory course! Halteman is an AMAZING professor. He brings energy to the classroom and helps everyone in the class to be interested in philosophy, which is generally not the most exciting class.

    Course highlights:

We did case studies of Descartes, Singer, Beauvoir, and many other controversial writings of philosophers. We studied self-forgetfulness and learned to be mindful of ourselves in everyday life.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take it! I thought I would hate this course, but I actually really enjoyed it. Work hard and thoroughly analyze the readings in your write-ups to get the best grades.
