    | Would not recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Zalik knows a lot about math, but that doesn't necessarily get passed on to his students. He doesn't explain things well or field questions effectively, which makes learning precal very difficult. I had to teach most of the material to myself through WebAssign and other online resources (Khan Academy was a lifesaver).

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was when it ended, to be completely honest. I'm not a math person, but I did pay attention, study and try to seek additional help. Try as I might, I had a very hard time being successful in this course. It's one of the lower level math courses, so it definitely should not have been so difficult. I think having a different professor would have been very beneficial to me, and that's what I would recommend to others.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Take the course, but try to find a different teacher than this one, especially if you struggle with math or have never taken precal/algebra before. Be prepared to work hard, show up to class and invest a lot of time doing homework and prepping for tests.

    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I did not enjoy my teacher, but the subject is relatively easy. With a great teacher, the course can be fun.

    Course highlights:

I learned about the unit circle, trig, and other basic calculus functions.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the homework and go to office hours.
