    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is a very comprehensive, easy to understand course and a great beginning to the accounting field. Meghan was very knowledgeable and willing to sit down with students when they were having a problem. She would talk you through the process which helped to see how things worked instead of just giving the answers. There were some downsides. The computer program used by this course is difficult to navigate and does not include many of the features needed to complete some assignments. The book is loose-leaf, so purchasing a binder is necessary. Overall, I enjoyed the class and learned a great deal regarding the accounting field. If you are not a numbers person, you could have difficulty in this class. Some of the terms and functions of the accounting field are complicated. This class will simplify these concepts for you if you are willing to put in the time needed to read the material and complete the assignments.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the beginning knowledge of how and why accounting is important in business and our personal lives. I learned how to set up and properly execute a basic accounting system. I learned about the legal aspects, the governing bodies and the ethics of accounting. This course in not just about the numbers, it is about the meaning and ethical use of the numbers. Accounting is not just balancing your checkbook and having a budget. Accounting keeps track of all aspect of money. This course puts together the basics of the accounting system in a way that shows how all the puzzle pieces fit together and why.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice would be to make sure you understand the concept you are learning before going on to the next one. If you don't understand a concept, it can throw the process into chaos. Don't be afraid to ask questions or seek help in any way. The object of attending school is to learn. If you don't ask questions, you block the process of learning. This can lead to frustration, anger and dropping out of school all together. Let others help you. Never give up on your dreams or yourself. Always do the best job you can do. Respect others on your way. Remember you are a beautiful and wonderful human being and deserve the best.
