Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course provides the basics to the rest of a nurses academic career. It is extremely interesting to learn about the diseases and disorders of the human body. The diseases and disorders that are covered are the most popular ones seen throughout a hospital or outpatient setting.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course include the integrated NCLEX preparation quizzes. Personally, I have a hard time finding extra spare time to start my NCLEX practice. Within this course you are required to do 3-4 chapters worth of quizzes and reaching mastery levels of four. Tip: They really help studying for the exams!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

When the professor is lecturing, avoid paying too much attention to the medications and equipment that should be used. This class is not supposed to be that advanced, and that type of material will not show up on the exams. Although, that does not mean totally neglect what she is saying because it will help for years to come. Also, never miss and quizzes. The exams are not the largest portion of your overall grade, but instead all your other work counts for the majority. Do not neglect the quizzes, they are easy 100 points! Another tip is to not let the diseases and disorders scare you. Many of them have the same manifestations -- signs and symptoms -- so pick out the ones that are unique. My gold star tip would be to look over medical terminology before taking this course. If you can dissect the word it will make studying and memorization easier!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Class is interesting from Day 1. Professors at Detroit Mercy are good with exercising different ways to help students learn. Pathophysio is a great class to practice these skills.

    Course highlights:

To this day, I remember different mechanisms of the human body and pass the techniques I learned to other students currently in the course. Learning about the human body is complex, but that does not mean the way you learn it has to be.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study, but draw - Make your learning fun!
