A very helpful course for anyone going into a manufacturing or engineering field because it gives you a great understanding of different common materials used in industry and what properties they have.
Learn about different ways to test materials. This course had a huge section on steel and steel alloys and why it's so commonly used, also touches base with many of materials from other metals to plastics.

A decent understanding of algebra is helpful, physics and chemistry are applied but you're given enough material in class to not need prior knowledge.
