    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Very challenging course, however, once you find the correct way to study it will broaden your career as a nurse.

    Course highlights:

I learned about what to do and say to help with people that are battling a mental disease that many people suffer from that could very well be someone you have known. This course will become an eye opener to people understanding what a mental disease is and how people can cope with it.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Get the psychiatric mental health book, do practice quizzes, get the Saunders nursing book to help with test taking skills, and be really interactive with what you are doing. Some of the best ways of studying is really wanting to learn something based off of what you are studying. Don't be afraid to ask questions. A great tool that can help is your teacher.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is required for the nursing program. Keep an open mind and expect to learn about yourself.

    Course highlights:

Not only did I learn about people with mental illnesses but I also learned about myself. Even though I struggled with the exams I passed it with at least an 80%. It is so easy to judge a person without knowing their circumstances. This class will expand your knowledge about the mental health population.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Complete case studies, practice quizzes/exams, and practice hesi-style questions. Also meet with the instructor to review your exams.
