    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anyone who is science minded or thinking of a career along that line. This course is by far the hardest I have taken, but I learned a ton. Be sure to send at least an hour a day reviewing notes or re-reading the text.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was the labs because they directly correlated with the material we were learning in lecture at that point. This was very beneficial for me to be able to visualize the content from the book and the lectures.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

My biggest learning from this course is to take the time to review my notes right after class and go to office hours. Make sure to ask plenty of questions and come prepared for class.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I thought that this course was pretty decent. The material was difficult and fast pace, but it really sets you up to succeed in future courses. The professeur, Dr. Langeland, was the only thing I didn't really like about the class. He was very condescending and rude about beliefs different than his. Wouldn't recommend taking biology with him if possible.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the labs. The labs were very helpful in relation to the class, and they were actually fun! The lab groups are random, so you also get to meet some new people and make some new friends.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

The advice I would give to students considering this course is to always do the readings. The readings aren't required, but they really help you understand what's happening in the class!

    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This is a required class for the biology major. Though it is incredibly difficult, Professor Langeland is a very good teacher.

    Course highlights:

I have a more thorough understanding of genetics and how they apply to the tree of life.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the book before you go to lecture! And always go to office hours when you're struggling.
