    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because Professor Boatwright challenges her students to think about big and uncomfortable issues that have been present in this country for hundreds of years. She takes this big issues and relates them to psychology cases studies, then opens it up for discussion and the students are able to hear from their peers who have experiences or examples that can further promote understanding of the topic.

    Course highlights:

Let me start off by saying this is a course that reflects the amount of effort put into it, is the amount of knowledge you will gain from it. I think the biggest piece of knowledge I gained from this course is being more accepting of people's choices or life situations. For example, stress and poverty actually change the chemistry and neural impulses of the brain which then unfortunately plays a negative role in the poverty cycle.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

My best advice for this course would be to come in with an open mind. Also, do the reading for homework even though the class does not have any quizzes or tests because it is amazing to see how the readings relate to real world events or issues.
