Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course really likes to do group works so that students can interact with each other and solve problems together. This class makes people go out there and find there own statistics about something in the college. Students work together to create surveys and to make samples to get statistics that can be helpful to the college.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course is how I learned to use Microsoft excel a lot better, how to create a survey that people could take and a survey that is useful not just surveys that give bad or incorrect data.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You are going to need a lot of time to study, but it is worth it because at the end of the course everything that you learn in the class, you will have to apply in the final project that you have to turn in.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This was a great course that I took at Kalamazoo College. Professor Stull does a really nice job of providing students in-depth statistical knowledge and then applies the material into various business settings. There is not any homework and the book does not correlate with the lectures, thus I encourage students to pay very close attention in class because a majority of what you will be tested on will come from the lectures as opposed to external sources. The major assignment in the course is a final project and it is very important to work incrementally on this project. If students wait to complete this project last minute, it'll be one of the most daunting assignments students will ever work on during their time at Kalamazoo College.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the course was definitely the project because it was refreshing to take a course where students have to apply every aspect of the course material was applied to real-world business settings. It was interesting to use statistical methods such as hypothesis testing, t-tests, and chi-square tests, in order to draw conclusions in real world business settings.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The main advice I would give students considering this course is to go over the notes and sample problems after each lecture in order to make sure they understand the material. There is no homework or other assignments, thus it is mainly the students responsibility to make sure the material stays fresh in their minds. Also, I would advise students to work on the project early and often to make sure they are not doing too much the night before. If students wait until the night before the project is due, it will be one of the most daunting assignments students will encounter in their four years at Kalamazoo College.
