Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is a great intro course to MATLAB and C programming. The professor is a great teacher and will help guide you through whatever you need help on. The only thing you have to do is ask. He provides great packets with all of his lectures, which is great to follow along with. These packets are also available to you on the computer. The two hour lecture can get pretty lengthy, but if you have never took a class similar to this or worked with MATLAB and C, it's a class you should pay attention in. It's not necessarily an easy A. You have to put in the work to be able to understand the material, if you're new to the material that is. One tip is if you don't know how to write the correct statement, write a comment in the program stating what you are trying to do. Put as much logic down as you can. Prof. Taylor is a lenient grader and will give you credit if he sees that you are on the right track with the logic you put in your comments.

    Course highlights:

In this course you learn the basics of MATLAB and C programming. This includes scripts, plotting data, creating figures, functions, solving equations, keyboard and mouse input, and more. Some cool things that were taught was how to write a program for 3D mesh and surface plots.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Ask any questions you may have after the lecture or go to office hours before the next lecture because you will have a quiz every other lecture and it is a good idea to know the material before hand. Also get MATLAB and Geany (Geany is what we used for C programming... not sure if it has changed) onto your laptop as soon as possible so you're not stuck when it comes to midterms and finals week and everyone is using the school desktops.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would not recommend taking ECE 101 at Kettering University with Professor Kwon. ECE 101 is supposed to be an introductory programming class but Professor Kwon does not teach introductory programming. Professor Kwon teaches the Matlab functions and expects you to memorize it instead of learning it. Take ECE 101 with a different professor.

    Course highlights:

In ECE 101, I learned many uses of Matlab along with C programming. I learned required syntax of both languages and also how to learn a new a programming language.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to learn how to do the assigned homework to be able to know what is going to be on the exams.
