Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is a great introduction to the world of sociology with windows into psychology and human behavior!

    Course highlights:

I learned a great deal about the values and norms we hold to and their origins as well as why and how we perpetuate such ideals. I learned to check my own thinking and evaluate whether I was approaching a subject based on my upbringing and cultures set values or whether I needed to step out of the box and be less "ethnocentric". I also chose to complete the honors option for this class and I highly recommend doing so. It added to what we were learning in the chapters and provided even more food for thought. My instructor was great about guiding and challenging me on the honors assignments. She is a fantastic professor!

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely read the whole chapters and before taking the final, be sure to use the final exam learning objectives as it is a departmental final and there will be questions on that exam that have not been covered either in the text or discussions.

I became a believer of sociology through this course. I had never known what it was or how it worked until this class, but the information provided was very eye opening.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the textbook, take notes, and do the work. If you follow these simple steps you will pass the course with a good grade.
