Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

If you want to know, understand and acquire more knowledge about your body. If your major is nursing, then it is actually required of you to take the class.

    Course highlights:

I got to understand the digestive, reproductive (male and female) , respiratory system better. I learnt how to trace a drop of blood round the body, how to identify a vein and an artery under the microscope which was so much fun. I also learnt about the endocrine system, their target cells and the hormones each of them releases.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

It is less of memorization and more of actually understanding every material taught by the instructor. Always study, study, study, study, ask questions, never miss a class, always read the teachers slide, do your own research on topics you don't really understand, don't forget to be prayerful and be optimistic.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course for anyone majoring in a healthcare related study. It is the second part of the Anatomy and Physiology course offered at Calhoun.

    Course highlights:

It covered Cardiovascular, Blood, Acid/Base balance, Urinary, etc. I learned a lot about kidneys and the role they play in keeping the body in homeostasis.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take advantage of the online resources! All of the instructors offer plenty of online resources, including pre-tests, videos and pictures of the models, and often some online lectures, even if your class is on campus. Some people find all of that a bit overwhelming, but if you take it piece by piece, it can be immensely helpful!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend Dr. Ortega's class for those who are majoring in Healthcare or want to learn more about the human body.

    Course highlights:

I gained a better insight as to how the human body works and how it can be applied in a clinical setting.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Use Mastering A&P to your advantage and study the tools provided for you on Blackboard. If you have any questions speak to the professor.
