Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Black knows how to get his students talking. Every day he walks in with a new topic in hand. He lets the class take control for there and it really gets your own mind open and wandering.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about voicing my opinion without making it sound personal. This is an important strategy for getting others to care about the things you care about.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

It's a necessity. Writing is our best form of expression and it's important to know that you're editing, citing, doing it all correctly.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

He made the subject enjoyable and educational, even for those who didn't naturally like it. He kept everyone involved and engaged. He gave me confidence in my ability as a college student.

    Course highlights:

I learned to think creatively, be observant, to expand upon my ideas, argue from an opposing point of view, how to correctly format and source a college essay, how to think on my feet, and overcome public speaking anxiety.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Work hard. Put your all into the work he asks of you, because nothing can beat the sense of accomplishment.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this class to other students for many reasons, first of which is professor Byrd herself; who is a kind, passionate and talented teacher and writer. She is meticulous in class lectures as well as organized and an intellectual mind. Another reason I recommend this class is because the course material and Wendy's lesson plan and course pack are detailed, clean and concise. I learned much in the 15 week class about my own writing style and different types of essays.

    Course highlights:

Like I said in the above paragraph, English comp 101 is intensely informative, the assignments really put you in a position to challenge yourself. It is an awesome feeling to receive a good grade on a paper and to acknowledge that the directions and course material and writing process taught is a beneficial bunch of writing tools for anyone.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I don't recommend taking this class during a full time semester if they do not have the time due to children or a job that takes time away from your schoolwork. There is a lot of reading and writing involved, as well as a lengthy set of assignments due all together every few weeks. The binder assignments are long, however there are no other homework assignments or obligation. I would also definitely suggest to get a personal laptop, as well as a hard drive back up with plenty of space.
