    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Biology is a hard course regardless if you are very good or very poor at it. Professor Merritt expects your effort and time outside of class spent on studying and doing the extra non-required work to get an A in the class.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were all of the cool things we did in the Lab portion of the class. You get to learn a lot about genes, the reproductive cycles for males and females, and about the cycles in photosynthesis and anaerobic & aerobic cellular respiration.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

If you want to succeed in this course you have to put in the work outside of class. Also, it really helps if you listen well during class and take really good notes because you cannot print out her powerpoint notes. She lets you audio record her lectures, so that may be helpful to some students also. Read the chapters and pages she is going to lecture about before class because then you already have that foundation layed out for you in your mind, and she is just reiterating it at the time of lecture.
