Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Mr. Hallemann is a very good teacher, covers the course material very thoroughly, but not too dryly. He manages to spark a topic most students are probably tired of learning about. I personally love English classes, and would put this as one of my favorite classes.

    Course highlights:

Comp is the advanced basics of your rudimentary English class. The pacing is much quicker than high school ever was, which some people enjoy, and others will struggle with. The grading is very fair, if you put in the work, you will get the grade which you deserve. It is a mostly broad course, again covering how to write papers, do research, and properly cite your sources.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

There really is no easy study tip for an English class. Be thorough in your research, always make sure the sites you are using are valid. Try to use google scholar instead of regular google, and if you are an OCC student, you even have access to the expansive data base, where you can find a ton of information on basically anything and everything.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I think Dr. James is a very organized teacher. He always has set goals for each class, which he writes on the board before each class starts. Students know what is coming. He also makes the class lively by offering group activities, each time with a different group, which helps socialization in the class. He´s also very clear in his assignments and when he corrects the students´papers he points at what´s wrong or right, descriptively. He´s a great guide, also a talented writer.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to write a good essay, how to do good citations, and how to use reliable sources in my papers.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I´d suggest them not to skip class because there are short group easy quizzes every week that add up points to the score. I´d also suggest they should start doing research early on so they don´t get overwhelmed by doing the papers in the last minute. I´d also suggest them to use the time Dr. James gives student to do in´class research and ask him questions while doing so.
