Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Psychology is a course that can be used within and outside anyone's major. Understanding how the human brain works, learning what parts of the brain develops at which age, and knowing how to handle disorders are ways to help coordinate with family, friends, students, peers, etc.

    Course highlights:

It is absolutely incredible learning different reasons as to why I act one way, why I believe this over that, and why my emotions get the best to me. It's an amazing discovery when I can fully understand why I am the person I am becoming. Learning about the different parts of the brain and how they work allows for a better understanding of people who have experienced tragedy, who have some form of disability, who hit puberty at a later age, etc. It's fascinating knowing that my brain is constantly on the go, whether I am or not.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study every day. Weekends, holidays, whatever it may be. This is not a course handed to you on a silver platter. There are an abundance of apps that allow students to study at home, work, school, and on the go. Take the time to learn and comprehend the material. Truly use context clues, outside resources., your professor, peers, and graduates to help with difficult material.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Renken is not the best lecturer and often dulls the material. Nonetheless, there is a lot of interesting information to cover. Lectures are easy to skip, though, if other classes are demanding.

    Course highlights:

The material on childhood development and psychological illnesses was fascinating and worth devoting time and attention to studying.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to read the textbook. Renken says that she pulls primarily from lectures but everything on the test will have been in the book. Lectures are not mandatory and easy to skip if need be.
