I have never lived on campus, I live in an off-campus apartment. From what I know, the students enjoy it for the most part, and it's rather convenient to be able to walk straight to classes and dining. I have heard complaints about living in older buildings and not having AC.
this can only happen through active attempts to change it. Greek housing is available for members, and people tend to enjoy living in their house. Greek life can serve as a very dividing factor on campus, with rivalries between houses and a divide between Greeks and non-Greeks.

However, Greek life has a reputation of being less and less racially diverse as you move up the "prestige" rankings - "top houses" have a stigma of being nearly all-white. This is a dilemma that will hopefully be resolved within the next few years.
