    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class offers a sociological perspective on cinema. Your eyes are opened to both the struggles and privileges each particular group can face, and puts them in the context of real life events. Dr. Boyd is a fantastic and compelling lecturer, and has no problem "telling it like it is".

    Course highlights:

Every lecture I consider a highlight of the course. Dr. Boyd always picks the most relevant films to screen and connects them back to the real world in a way that is relevant and thought-provoking. Definitely do not miss The Godfather lecture!

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you complete every single reading before your discussion class. There are many small activities and questions the TAs make you go over in groups.
