    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I've been challenged to focus my writing and structure my arguments like never before. While the grade on my first essay was a tough pill to swallow (C+), I resolved to improve with each subsequent paper and constantly sought help from my professor. I came out of that class a better student and a better thinker.

    Course highlights:

I gained an appreciation for the drafting process, for the dirty work of gathering my thoughts and planning a "road-map" for my paper. That's nearly half the battle of effective writing! Constant feedback from my professor (take advantage of office hours, folks!) helped refocus my writing and prune away unnecessary parts. Through it all, I learned the importance of having my own voice. Everyone is gifted with a unique perspective - we just need to learn how to properly convey it!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Know your facts. Pre-write like crazy. Capitalize on those office hours. Email like never before!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Play It Street Smart – I can't get over how many students take risks walking alone late at night around 2 a.m. after partying -- especially young women. USC Campus Security has cab service I start usc in the fall but the main reason i chose this program is because their alumni network is very strong and will allow me to have better job opportunities.

    Course highlights:

I think the LAPD, Campus Security, and students need to be more educated on drugs and the dangers of connecting to drug dealers in LA. There should be more public campaigns on campus for this.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

it's just a phone call away. I don't think students take advantage of the cab fleet. I also think that a lot of crime can be prevented if USC was drug free. A lot of students use drugs to have fun, and there are consequences.
