Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course offers a great insight in analyzing how the media has affected every part of society thus far in addition to noting its potential for future impact. The class teaches students to be aware of how media is becoming more prevalent in society, how the world is evolving and adapting to its increased role and influence, and how students can use it to their advantage in an array of fields.

    Course highlights:

The best part of this course was the diverse topics discussed. Every single week there was a new speaker who was an expert in their field that related to the topic of discussion. They offered insight into the theme as well as debated with students over controversial ideas that related to the class discussion. As a result of such debate and stimulating conversation, we were able to learn about multiple areas and industries that are affected by media, how they have changed, and our role in this change.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The best advice would be to engage int he discussions! They can be stimulating and eye opening with an increased debate and investigation of ideas that relate to the theme. Having access to professionals that are experts in their field and have had a great impact on their industry is an opportunity to explore interests, concerns, and unanswered thoughts. From themes as broad as politics to as specific as plastic surgery, the course has the potential to expose students to a wealth of knowledge if they are willing to participate and actively learn.
