    This class delved further than what I expected and the teacher explained the concepts really well.

    Course highlights:

    The highlight of this course was when the teacher went above and beyond to help the students understand the concepts.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

    This is a corner stone class for anyone in the bio-medical or chemical sciences!

    Course highlights:

    Acids and Bases; The Use of Curved-Arrow Notation; Alkanes, Alkenes and Alkynes!; Stereochemistry; Alcohols and Thiols.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

    Go for office hours! Get Organic Chemistry As A Second Language by David Klein. Make sure you ace the final...if you score above a 90 on the final, you get an A like I did. Don't memorize only...make sure you understand the principles.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

    I would recommend this course due to the nature of the subject matter. I find learning about organic compounds fascinating. Although it is a challenge, I believe it is a very useful class for anyone looking to pursue a career in the life sciences.

    Course highlights:

    The highlights of this course included learning how to synthesize different compounds with different smells and learning about the different kinds of reactions that can take place in everyday activities.

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

    Take advantage of every opportunity given to you to help yourself succeed. This includes going to supplemental instruction sessions, tutoring, as well as professor and TA office hours.
