Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I’d like to become a popular, charismatic, and great leader and maybe many leaders do, too. I want to become a person of charm, strong leadership, and charisma so that I can galvanize audiences and captain my organizations well. By doing that, I want to inspire followers to do better and promote cooperation and harmony. By providing individual coaching and mentoring for followers, I wish to encourage positive developments of followers and create ethical climates. This course would help make that happen.

    Course highlights:

I think the most significant concept from this course that I will carry with me is “transformational leadership” because I want to become a transformational leader. Transformational leaders enhance the motivation, morale, and job-performance of followers through various mechanisms (Burns, 1978). They create an inspiring vision of the future, motivate people to buy into and deliver the vision (Yukl, 1999), manage delivery of the vision, and build ever-stronger, trust-based relationships with their people. Transformational leadership has positive elements such as individualized consideration, intellectual stimulation, inspirational motivation, and idealized influence. I like to become a transformational leader and thereby provide a role model for high ethical behavior, instill pride, gain respect and trust.

    Advice for students:

You had better prepare well before. I recommend you read the textbook of this class and many related books in advance. And if you watch a lot of video lectures related to this class in advance, that would help you. Abovel all, you should have plenty of time. Some assignments can be done beforehand to save time.
