Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
I recommend this course only if you feel that you need a fresh start to get your brain back on track after spending so much time out of school for the summer. But if you don't need I do not recommend it, keep moving forwarded from this course. But you'll mainly be put in this course as an incoming freshman only if your test score for math were low.
Course highlights:
The course is more like a review, just to fresh your memory. We went over all the basics, combining liked terms, distributive property, liked denominator, adding positive and negative numbers.
Hours per week:
3-5 hours
Advice for students:
Pay attention, ask questions, and make sure you do all your homework for your practice and go to office hours for extra help.
Pretty easy, overall.
Course Overview:
I would recommend professor Lu's class because her homework is easy, so tend not to spend much time on them, and if you miss an assignment she is willing to let you turn it a day late or two. Not only that but her test are really easy and if you do well on the homework you should be able to pass the test. The only downside is that she is a foreigner, so if you aren't used to hearing accents it may be harder for you to understand her at times. Also, she gives writing assignments which tend to have material we don't cover in class making it harder to finish but we are usually given those every other week.
Course highlights:
This class is basically going back to middle school math. Due to my prior education, this level of math proved to be too easy for me, to the point I don't even need to try. Though this doesn't fly for all of the students who had lack luster math teachers over the years, so they tend to need extra help in their subjects. I have people in my class who had to relearn how to multiply and divide fractions, and even learn how to do long division.
Hours per week:
0-2 hours
Advice for students:
If you had teachers who made sure you paid attention in class growing up then this class should be a breeze, but if you just goofed off or had teachers who just didn't care you're going to have some problems.
Pretty easy, overall.
Course Overview:
I would recommend this course because it's a class that gives you a great refresher.
Course highlights:
from this class I've gained stronger mental arithmetic.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
Be organized and pay attention
