    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend Medical Surgical to those who really want to know about health conditions, signs and symptoms, Labs values and how to care for the clients with certain conditions. Nursing is for those who are dedicated and love caring for others. As I do.

    Course highlights:

How to Prioritize, when to delegate, signs and symptoms of serious diseases like diabetes, COPD and heart disease and treatments. Baselines like, vital sign and Labs are telling alerts, even weighing a client everyday, the same time a day, same scale, same type of clothing is crucial. I loved this course. Students that I don't know ask me about Med-Surg stuff. I am very happy to talk with them it keeps me remembering all that I've learned. Also, documentation. If you do not document client care and treatments, it never happened. Meticulous!!!

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Nursing isn't for everybody. I happened to be born with the innate abilities to do for others. It's my passion. Dedication to your studies and your clients. Love what you do. I love Nursing.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I like the Professor's style of teaching. They get into details and very informed. But they give you just what you need to be successful. Excellent teaching skills. I would gladly recommend Jersey College.

    Course highlights:

I gain confidence in my abilities to know what is this condition? How do I care for it? I now have a keen knowledge in my role as a nurse. Also my LPN Diploma.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Please dedicate the year or so, to the course. Ask questions, record, listen intensely in class, read all your handouts material and your text. Be on time, stay off your phones, tablets, laptops. Focus, focus and focus!!!
