Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

As a clinical psychologist in training, it is very important to be aware of your personal biases when in a therapy session with a client and this class was an excellent way of exposing us to those biases and how to handle them when in the therapy setting, as to ensure the client feels comfortable in your presence.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were becoming more familiar with various cultures, and learning the importance of how best to approach and address individuals in various manners.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My best advice for this course is expect to gain a great deal about yourself and your core values once you have completed the requirements. It was a very enlightening experience, and for that, it will make me a better therapist. The Person of Culture interview was a great opportunity to really get to know an individual unlike myself in many ways, on a personal level, which proved to be a great learning tool for myself and the individual I interviewed. If there is an opportunity to present your research project at the IAMFT conference, I highly suggest doing that for exposure to conference presentations.
