Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Very fun class! Dr. Fisher made learning the material easier and more fun. She included case studies, which was a way to apply the concepts we learned to real life situations.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of the course was the case studies. I learned how to apply the concepts learned in Biology to everyday life.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to class and read the book. Dr. Fisher has clicker questions which count as extra credit.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because you go into such a depth of biology it is almost mind blowing. With high school you have a good understanding of how organisms work, but with this course you find out so much mor and everything starts to fit together a lot better.

    Course highlights:

A highlight of this course was doing lectures when we would go over the power pints my professor would add pictures to help us remember the material better. I learned a lot about the micro details of organisms that seems impossible to exist yet some how they do.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

My advise for this course is to create different ways to remember the material, do not just take notes and use flashcards. Instead create a study group go over the material everyday, and find different ways to make the connections.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course covers a broad range of very interesting information on organismal biology as a whole. Whether this is a pre-req for anyone or not, you'll learn a lot from this class. The professor is very intelligent in her field so if you have any questions, she's bound to be able to answer 95% of them!

    Course highlights:

There was A LOT that I learned from this course. How photosynthesis works, mutations in DNA, different receptors in cells, functions of the parts of a cell and the list goes on! There is no end to learning about biology and this class represents just that.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you get a head start on studying for this course, come to class prepared, and pay attention in the lectures. This class covers a lot and goes by quick so make sure you're prepared for what will be covered in class! Also, take good notes. A tip to doing good on exams is to write down the dates of the exams on a calendar so you give yourself enough time to study, and re-copy notes. It may seem like a tedious job to do, but it is so worth it. There is quite a bit of writing in this class but you'll soon become accustomed to it and re-copying your notes won't be so bad after a while. Try your best not to study by yourself. If you're not very good with forming study groups, at least find one person who you think you'll be able to cover a good sum of information with. Being able to study with one or more people will increase your chances of doing well on your exams for this course, as well as relieves test anxiety.
