    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I have a passion for not only healthcare, but how to diagnose and treat the ill human body itself. The first step to this is to learn the foundation of the anatomy of the body. My professor taught thoroughly ensuring we understood each subject at a depth. It began with the integumentary system, and each subject then and after would be studied at the cellular level.

    Course highlights:

In this course, we learned about each system from the cellular level, to not only understand the system better, but to observe it from a physiological point of view to understand why a certain system may do something to maintain homeostasis. This includes chemical and biological mechanisms and how they can be altered, inhibited, or enhanced. One of the most interesting subjects to learn about was the endocrine system, mostly because of it's extensive chemical mechanisms and it's ability to dramatically change our bodily functions. Later on in Human Anatomy & Physiology II, the most interesting subject was by far the cardiovascular system, because it is carefully maintained through chemicals, hormones, ions and electrical charges across cellular membranes.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Study for this course as much as possible and always practice writing essays describing the specific function your professor will ask you to recite. YouTube has Khan Academy and many other resources that give a visual representation along with thorough explanation of what ever mechanism is chosen for an essay explanation on your tests. Be sure to never miss a class as you will miss a lot of information. It is helpful to print out your power point lectures and use a highlighter in lectures. Read the textbook every night if possible, it is very important to read the textbook because all of the questions on the test will refer straight to the book.
