Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anyone who is interested in how the world functions; the amount of things driven by social standards in our world is fascinating, and something everyone should be more aware of.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course for me was the unit on religion - I never expected to be hooked on something so firmly that I came in knowing so little about!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Get ready to read - and ask questions! Be engaged! You get what you put in for this course.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because the instructor is very clear and easy to understand. She engages the classroom in riveting discussions that require a lot of critical thinking.

    Course highlights:

I learned to see the world in a new way. Due to this course, I became more aware of institutional inequalities, and the social construction of race, gender, and disease.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend that the students do the assigned readings and attend lecture. The professor goes over the readings in class and the content is always on the exams.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I loved this course! It was interactive with a lot of class discussion. The information was interesting and relevant.

    Course highlights:

I learned all of the basics of sociology that interested me enough to take more sociology courses. My favorite part of the class was reading "Ain't No Makin It" (I don't remember who the author was) because it was a nice tie-in to the real world.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the reading! Don't fall behind. The discussion section helps a lot. The study guides are useful because everything that is on the test, is on the study guide.
