    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I really enjoyed this course. It's essentially learning the unix library while programming in C. You learn a lot about how the unix environment works, shell tools, and how it all is created in C code. I found the class very exciting because I got a much understanding about how linux works and I got to do C programming, which I have not had a chance to get back into for a long time.

    Course highlights:

Be ready to write some C code! If you're not familiar with the Linux terminal, you sure will in this class! Be also to be working programming assignments in groups. This was a new experience for me. Make sure you communicate as much as possible and try and keep everyone up to date when you want to meet and what needs to get done.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

It's a required course for most CSCI majors. Being C program, it's not for everybody. However, since it's a requirement, be ready to learn C if you're not familar already. They do team some of the language if you're new. It's a challenging language for most poeple. If you're not going to learn C well at least focus on the topics discussed in class to do well.
