    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course but not the professor. Professor Marden struggled mightily to articulate his thoughts in an even relatively clear way. However, taking this course will set students up for success in advanced math courses due to the discipline and motivation they must maintain to past Math 1271 with Professor Marden.

    Course highlights:

I gained all the necessary knowledge enabling my immediate success in Math 1272.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be certain you know how to solve every single assigned homework problem with no exceptions. Take advantage of the past midterm exams posted on Course Hero and practice them under test-like conditions before every midterm exam.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I took Calculus because it's required for my major, not because I'm good at it or that I thoroughly enjoy it. That being said, if you must take Calculus, take it with Jason. Honestly, he's one of the best teachers I've ever had. The way he teaches and engages with the class is great - all the students love him!

    Course highlights:

We learned the basic concepts of calculus, from limits to derivatives. There were a few hard chapters, of course, but it was doable.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you study and make sure you practice! Jason may be a good teacher, but it isn't all on him! You have to put in effort for sure!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor did a great job explaining the course material and thoroughly went through practice problems to make sure students were understanding what was being taught.

    Course highlights:

Highlights of the course were such that I had a fantastic professor and teacher's assistant who were very involved with the students and made sure their students succeeded.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Going to class is a huge part of the learning process, so make an honest effort to attend all lectures and discussions. Also, do not be afraid to ask questions since there is a strong chance other students have that same question.
