Interesting stuff, good pace to keep up with. Group homework, yes, homework and labs, not projects, so every one plays a bit about everything: conceptual knowledge, novel data structures, new thoughts and trends, writing sql and js, using google/open source products.
It introduces computer science student with some outside minds: how the real world is spatially handled in digital era. This really touches some database stuff beyond simple sql. Other "hot" topics include spatial network, and spatial data mining. This course makes me want to go deeper in this field.
