    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professors care about your success in this course. It is fascinating and gives you hands on experience if you are going into the medical field.

    Course highlights:

I really enjoyed the lab where we had to discover which bacteria was causing a patient's UTI.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Save the textbook reading material for last, use it more as a reference if you did not grasp a specific topic. Do the study guides, they are worth it!

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Although microbiology is not a subject that I am particularly interested in, the professor for this course did a good job making sure that everyone in the class was learning and understanding the material. The course expectations were very clear and there were plenty of resources provided to ensure that the material was understood by the students. Lecture videos and notes were provided and the exams were written in a straight forward format, directly from the lectures. It was a great introduction to the topic of microbiology and I would definitely recommended it if you think you may have any interest in the subject.

    Course highlights:

I gained a lot of knowledge on the general idea that bacteria is all around us and that there are so many different forms of it. Going into the course, I assumed all types of bacteria were harmful, but I learned that there are many types that are actually beneficial to us that we could not live without. I found that very fascinating. I also really enjoyed the freedom we were given to work on the lab material and ask questions at our own pace. The professors were happy to guide us, but we were encouraged to work only with other students which enhanced my learning experience.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice would be to go back and watch all of the lecture videos a day after the lecture and fill out the study guide associated with it. This really helped the material stick in my mind and the supplemental study guides are great to look back at when you're preparing for the exams. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions in the class forums. Many times my questions were answered by other students which only helps to enhance both of our learning experiences.
