Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course for students pursuing a degree in education. It covers the basics and provides a glimpse into what being a teacher requires. The professor keeps the class engaged through active discussions and group activities.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course is completing the first lab which places education students into a classroom with a teacher. This is the first time education students enter the classroom viewing school from a teacher's perspective, rather than a student. This lab requires about 17 hours in the classroom in which the student observes how the teacher interacts with students. I have learned how important being a well-rounded individual is for those who will be successful as teachers. While teaching may not be thought of as a demanding career by many, the number of hours contributed to work outside of the classroom is enormous. Teachers must grade homework, plan classes, ensure students are succeeding, communicate with parents, fellow teachers, and administrators - the list of tasks is endless. This class prepares teaching candidates with relevant skills and viewpoints so that they are prepared for entering the classroom.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed, you'll need a drive to complete work and a passion for becoming a teacher. If you aren't confident you want to be a teacher, you'll struggle to complete the assignments for this course which require reflection on your own educational experience, how you plan to emulate your best teachers, and how you will inspire your students to accomplish their goals in the future.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I loved this course. The course definitely gives you a foot in on what it is like in the world of education. If you are thinking about being a teacher this course is a definite must.

    Course highlights:

This course definitely makes you think outside the bubble of yourself. As a freshman taking this course, you are well into the field of education and what you learn is how to prepare yourself to become a teacher and succeed at it.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely be prepared to think deep into yourself and reflect on what you remember growing up as well as how you would change your past into a brighter future for someone else.
