Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Great Class! Very well put together and the assignments and scenarios projects really tied the class together. I was able to really see how the Healthcare administration side of the house works whether it was in a hospital. Primary Care facility and so on. I gained a lot of useful information to help me on my journey.

    Course highlights:

This course really opens your eyes into the healthcare world for administration. This course showed me the different aspects that came into play with being an Administrator and the daily challenges that we could face. Its easy to just assume things about a job and say it will be easy but once reading different scenarios and having to come up with my own solutions on how to solve a issue an administrator would face is really isn't as easy as it looks. By taking this class you will gain a lot of insight and knowledge on how a Healthcare administrator operates.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay focused and really read the scenarios to understand the full aspect of the questions. Also think outside the box when coming up with ideas on how to improve the system when asked in assignments. Take your time and stay involved.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It's strange because even though the title of the course is Health Care Accounting and Billing, the course is actually a very introductory class on health care administration in general. There is little material that is actually about billing. If you are a health care administration major, I highly recommend the course. It provides you with basic information on the financial aspect of the field which can be very interesting at times. A lot of the information was brand new to me, so it was beneficial to my education in many ways.

    Course highlights:

We covered everything from different types of organizations, different methods of payments, how payments work, reimbursements, how a health care claim is filed and the steps of receiving payments and budgeting techniques.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay on top of the reading and the textbook. Everything in the textbook will be covered in class and Dr. Thacker loves to drop a pop quiz now and then. It is good to space your reading and studying out during the week but always have it completed before the beginning of class.
