Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This was an excellent introduction to herbalism. I learned more in this course than in any of my other "introductory" courses. It is a combination of hands-on and primarily written assignments. Ms. Kassim is fair, but not one of the most personable instructors I've had.

    Course highlights:

This course addresses many aspects of herbalism. We learn about growing and harvesting herbs, the basic types of herbal constituents, safety and dosage, methods of preparation, etc. Much of the course is comprised of what I would consider the study of a mini materia medica.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Much of this course is comprised of a mini materia medica, and ANY content from the book may show up on the test. There's no possible way to memorize the entire book, so I recommend just learning the major content and not worrying about the fact that you'll probably miss test questions about some petty detail things that, IMO, shouldn't show up on a closed-book test. (Module tests are open-book, so there's no reason to miss those -- just look them up if you're not sure!)

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class as it is a great class to get an introduction into the world pf herbal medicine and Scott is a herbalist of the highest quality and clinical experience. He opens your eyes to the art form that is herbal medicine.

    Course highlights:

I learned that herbal medicine is as much art as it is medicine. With herbal medicine a herbalist must look at the whole person mind, body and soul in order to help with their health issues. Herbs touch each of those parts of the whole person. It is active constituents that help body systems return to balance as well as components that help restore the mind and the soul.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be consistent in your time set aside for this course.
