Not too easy. Not too difficult.
This course was an excellent introduction to how amazing the human body is. During lectures, Professor Cole encouraged us to participate by calling on each of us several times during the lectures. By taking this course in the summer, there were only ten of us, as opposed to the 60-70 students in a semester-long course. Because the summer course is only five weeks long, we spent 1-2 class periods (2 hours each) on each of the 11 body systems. The professor is very approachable and made it comfortable to ask questions during class or to go into his office hours afterward.
In this course, laboratory sessions heavily focused on the anatomy of the human body and physiologic responses such as reflexes, muscle contractions, etc. There are human cadavers from the University of MN, which aid beautifully in the understanding of the anatomy. There are teaching assistants (TAs), who dissect the bodies so that the time spent in the lab is focused only on learning the parts of the body.

Advice for students:
Doing the readings prior to class are highly encouraged. Professor Cole goes around the room, asking each student a question during his lecture rather than posing an open question to the entire class. If you do not know the answer, he is understanding and is okay with you saying that you don't know without any ridicule or judgement from him or your peers. It was a great way to keep us engaged during the lectures and hold us accountable to do the textbook reading the night before class. In addition to this, I would also suggest asking questions as they arise because the beginning/introductory material is really the foundation for the sequential chapters.
