    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is a tough one especially if you have no background in chemistry. This class takes a large amount of effort to stay ahead of the work and to be caught up on all the learning. although this class is hard, I do recommend this course because it has a lot of useful information.

    Course highlights:

I have gained knowledge of basic chemistry through this course. Some major areas we learned about was the trends in the periodic table, Lewis structures, chemical properties, and reactions. We also spent a lot of time on thermo-chemistry. Thermo-chemistry was a hard section, but was very interesting and will be helpful in future chemistry classes.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Some important tips you need to now for this class are that you need to keep up on your work or you will fall very far behind. Once you are behind in this class, it is very hard to get caught back up. Furthermore, you need to put all your effort into this class not just because it has a lot of content, but because the content is difficult for most.

    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This course is required for biology and chemistry majors, so it is necessary for a major in the sciences. If you took chemistry in high school, this course will be mostly review for you. I recommend doing the readings and practice problems.

    Course highlights:

The labs helped illustrate the chemical concepts we learned in lecture.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I recommend completing the homework and reviewing the content throughout the semester instead of just before an exam. I also recommend forming group study sessions.
