    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it focused on the mechanics of writing, which I do not feel I am very good at. I took this course in high school and it was not easy, but I can tell my writing has improved! When I took the ACT for the first time, I decided to take the writing portion for a particular school I wanted to send my results to. Without this course, I would have struggled greatly. This course has taught me more about grammar and order than any course that came before. I highly recommend going ahead with Dual Enrollment course like this one if it is available at your school! It will help prepare you for scholarship essays, Admissions essays, and just improve your writing in general!

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were all of the interesting topics I was able to research before writing my drafts. I not only learned the mechanics of writing, but I learned more about History, United States statistics, and many more topics. It helped me to become better at locating information from more than one source.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

The advice I would give is to not give up, because you will feel like it sometimes. The work load seems like a lot, but if you stay focused on your topic and do one paper at a time, you will succeed. I would also say to spend time on your research. Go to a public library or your school library and use more than just the internet.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It's a difficult course that requires attention and basic dedication. Don't expect an easy A.

    Course highlights:

Comparative writing was a highlight, specifically comparing different short stories with dramatic or poetic works.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Buy the textbook and read what you're supposed to read. Make sure your writings are long enough, and don't slack.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I took Dr. Kostova's hybrid class, so we met on Mondays and Wednesdays, then had an online blog assignment each Friday. We were required to read specific works before class and then discussed it in class. We had to write a few essays throughout the semester on these works. There were only two exams. Dr. Kostova is a wonderful professor, so if you pay attention in class and complete the assignments, it will be easy to make an A.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to better understand works of literature and analyze them. This class helped prepare me for the Literature class I am currently enrolled in.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the assigned works before class, pay attention in class, take notes, and be sure to complete the online blogs.
