    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The course teaches students about the human behavior in an organizational set up. The behavior of individuals in groups are covered. Among the main aspects covered include conflict management, team work, leadership, communication and perceptions. One is able to understand the gist of team performance and the essence of team leadership and management.

    Course highlights:

I learnt that we need to understand the scenario in which someone makes decision. Circumstances influence how we behave. We learned about a lot of myths that people have about groups, teams, conflict and leadership among others. There are circumstances that team work is needed in order to perform effectively, but individual work may be essential in some circumstances.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

This course is important because wherever people work they interact with each other. When doing this course one requires to be researched oriented. There are many resources on the internet that provide essential reading material. It is essential to take personality surveys, where you get feedback on your performance. When you do self introspection, you mature in terms of group and organizational behavior.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because the professor keeps you guessing. The course content is also something that i was not expecting. While you do learn and focus on organizations and how they behave, the way that professor Koopmans teaches the course is something that I find enjoyable. I learned quite a bit about successful businesses and what they have in common. I also was fostered in my growth as a person in this course. Every week I got feedback from the professor about my work and how I am growing as a person.

    Course highlights:

The best part of this course are the learning journals where you discuss your personal thoughts and reflect on what you learned. This was where the professor would see where i am and understand me more as a student and a person. This built the relationship between student and teacher and allowed me to become more comfortable in the course.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

As always do not take the course or any course thinking you know what will happen. Yes there is a basic theme but it is how the course if taught that makes the difference. I would say the best advice I can give to you is to be honest with your answers. Let your guard down and expose parts of your thoughts and do not be afraid of feedback because the students and faculty are not there to put you down. They are there to teach you about the course and about yourself.
