    | No strong feelings either way.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

It is a very introductory course, designed for people who have no background in the mental health profession. As a transfer student, I was unhappy that I had to take this class because I already had 1.5 years of graduate school under my belt and 5 months of internship completed.

    Course highlights:

I did not gain any new information that I did not already know. If you already have a background in this field and still have to take the course, be prepared for a ton of review.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

It is an easy course, even if you do not have a background in this field. Do all of the readings and assignments, you will get a good grade if you put forth a little effort.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Gave a great overview of the basics of mental health counseling.

    Course highlights:

The final project required you to interview someone in the field. This gave me a lot of insight.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't wait until the last minute to located someone in the field.

    | Would highly recommend.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I love the way Dr. Forman set this course up. It was a great step into this quarter of courses.

    Course highlights:

I learned basic information about mental health counseling that I continue to apply to my courses throughout the program.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Create early deadlines to help you get your discussions, assignments, and quizzes done ahead of time to allow yourself one or two days a week without any school work, so you can practice your self-care.
