Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Informatics is driving healthcare in the United States. The government's mandate for proof of meaningful use through utilization of electronic health records to justify reimbursement is a complex web and nurses must understand it to become more efficient in their practice.
I don't like informatics. I find it tedious and difficult to read. However, I know now how necessary it is that I have a grasp and understanding of the impact technology and informatics has on my job. I need to stay current and up to date to remain useful and an asset in my profession and organization.

Advice for students:
Take one class at a time. Graduate school is a marathon, not a sprint. Put everything into one class and walk away with grades that make you happy. There is a lot of reading and work to be done in this class. I had an excellent professor that always provided constructive criticism that helped me to improve my writing and documentation. Be willing to do the work, and all of it, not just part of it. What you put in is what you will get out of this class.
