Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

In this course, students learn the significance of author's purpose when using symbolism, metaphors, and other figurative language that usually would go unnoticed by regular readers.

    Course highlights:

One of my personal favorite highlights of this class was our Poetry unit. When using different strategies to understand authors purpose in poetry, my understanding and appreciation for different pieces of literature grew tremedously. Now I can use strategies to understand strange poems.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Your grade is going to be the amount of effort you put in the class.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It challenged me to think as a writer. Every essay that we wrote gave us leeway on what direction we wanted to take our writing, and although there are writing prompts and rubrics, there is plenty of room for creative freedom. We discussed, we wrote, we analyzed, and in the process, we learned so much more about how the world works and how it influences us. The class is especially based upon making your writing better, so we had to write essay after essay! I highly suggest not to procrastinate! The workload can be overwhelming because each stage of the writing process (rough draft, outline, argument proposals, etc.) is turned in individually and is discussed by your professor, and the work becomes more challenging and as the semester progresses.

    Course highlights:

I gained more understanding on essay formats, essay structure, common grammatical and citation errors, and proper and accurate incorporation of research.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to work and learn. This class requires one to earn their grade.
