Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Rouse exudes so much passion in her lectures, that even if you weren't interested in microorganisms, you would be with her. She uses different methods of teaching the same material, so everyone is able to understand. Dr. Rouse has her rules, but they are for good reason (so you don't accidentally transmit the bacteria or break an expensive microscope). I'd recommend her to anyone needing a science with lab course.

    Course highlights:

This course is about the microorganisms that cause infection and conditions, as well as the popular medications to remedy those conditions.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Simple: listen to what she has to say, especially if she repeats herself. If you're taking the course to satisfy prerequisites for the nursing program, then Dr. Rouse is the one to teach you. She tries to prepare those students for what's to come with the coursework.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Ryan goes beyond the material at hand and provides students with material that is applicable to daily life. You will thoroughly learn the material and be prepared for a university.

    Course highlights:

Some of the highlights of the course includes our different labs: acid-fast staining, culture growing and identification, and gram-staining. I learned a large amount of information about the composition of microorganisms, their functions, diseases, and the role of microbes in daily life.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would suggest repeatedly going through the material and going back over the points that seem somewhat vague in your memory. There is a lot of material and it helps to associate it with everyday life. Ex. E. coli is both beneficial to the GI tract, but can be harmful when transferred to other areas.
