This class was tough.
Course Overview:
I enjoyed taking this class because of the professor that I had, but I struggle with Math so I didn't have such a good experience while taking this course. I would recommend this class to engineers and anyone else that loves math, but for those like me that took this class because it's required, make sure to study hard, take advantage of office hours and don't be afraid to seek out additional help if you're still struggling.
Course highlights:
At first I wasn't sure how this class tied in with my major, but after going through a few lessons, I started to see the connection between what I was learning in Calculus 2 and my major courses (meteorology).
Hours per week:
3-5 hours
Advice for students:
Have a good support system if you struggle in math. Definitely take advantage of the professor's office hours and stop by the tutoring center. If you're still having trouble, try forming a study group with classmates that are doing well in the course and if that helps. Also, COMMUNICATE with your professor. They can't help you if you don't reach out and ask for help.
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
Very good teacher with a thorough understanding of the subject. She is able to explain everything in multiple ways to help different types of students learn the material.
Course highlights:
Integration, both definite and indefinite, to calculate areas and volumes of functions, both trig and polynomial
Hours per week:
12+ hours
Advice for students:
Do not fall behind! make sure you finish the homework on the material you covered in class that day. If you have a question, ask sooner rather than later as it all builds.
